                                   INTRODUCTION

THE HAMILTON TRIO was founded in 1986 by performers Louise Fenn (flute,
voice & keyboard), Elizabeth Kellogg (cello) and John D. Howard (violin, viola,
arranger and leader). Their biographies attest to
their wide-ranging experience
as orchestral musicians (concertmaster, section
leader, etc.) and as chamber
musicians in addition to their activities in the
Hamilton Trio.

THE TRIO HAS BEEN HONORED by many of the same families, organizations
and concert series in being requested to perform for them year after year.

FOR MANY YEARS THE TRIO has been a favorite in Leesburg Today’s annual ‘Best of
Everything’ (Performing Arts) poll, ranking ahead or equal to larger symphonic and
choral groups--an indication of the unusual impact of the Trio's playing and programs!

IN 2000 THE QUALITY OF ITS WORK won for the
Hamilton Trio the distinction
of becoming a Nominee for the Governor’s "Excellence in the Arts" Awards.

BESIDES ITS SPECIALTIES--concerts & weddings--the
Hamilton Trio plays for
fine gatherings such as birthdays, anniversaries, holiday parties, dinners, hunt and dressage

events, dedications, commemorations, office parties, and so on. The Trio has given
many formal concerts, including programs for church, and can draw upon qualified
associates to form larger ensembles using piano, trumpet, viola, or other additional instrument.

FOR THOSE OF YOU PLANNING A WEDDING, the members of the Trio

continue to enjoy playing for such important and beautiful occasions even as the Trio
passes the 700 mark. A tape of the Trio playing excerpts from its wedding repertoire is
available (return required) for those interested in engaging the Trio.

THE REPERTORY OF THE HAMILTON TRIO is very large, and UNIQUE
because of the many
arrangements from the public domain for flute, violin & cello
created by its leader and violinist, John D. Howard.  He can prepare for the Trio
special songs often requested, for example, by the bride-to-be for her wedding
.

The Trio can expertly accompany a vocal soloist usually with just a pre-ceremony rehearsal.

NEW PIECES, LIKE RARITIES from the neglected American classical period, continue
to be added to stimulate the performers and to present something beyond the conventional
to the audience —
but always included are works and pieces whose beauty has made them
endure over the centuries. Examples of these include the Pachelbel Canon, Handel's
Fireworks and Water Music, the fine trios of Haydn, the wedding marches of Wagner
& Mendelssohn, Mozart's Romanza, Chopin's Waltz in a, Dvorak's Humoreske, and
the Minuets in G of Beethoven & Paderewski, to name just a few.

MUSIC FROM THE BAROQUE, CLASSIC & ROMANTIC periods predominate in the
Trio's playing but, for variety, the Trio can perform lighter fare, such as broadway tunes
(e. g., Gershwin, Porter); ethnic, such as Irish, Swedish, Jewish, English, Italian, German,
Spirituals, American fiddle; Stephen Foster, Civil War; and not least, waltzes and other
music for the Dance suitable for the acoustic-only Hamilton Trio.
